Adoptee Remembrance Day merchandise is available through The Real Adoptea Moxie Emporium, with items created specifically to help bring visibility to Adoptee Remembrance Day on October 30th and support the work that continues throughout the year.
The collection includes Adoptee Remembrance Day T-shirts, hoodies, coffee mugs, and a true-to-life greeting card collection created for adoptees and for those who want to acknowledge and honor the grief, loss, mental health struggles, and complex realities adoptees carry. Wearing, sharing, and sending these items is another way to help bring Adoptee Remembrance Day into conversations where adoptee experiences are seen, acknowledged, and taken seriously.
Proceeds from the Adoptee Remembrance Day collection help support the continued work behind Adoptee Remembrance Day, including maintaining and expanding the website, awareness efforts, educational and recommended resources, outreach, the Wall of Remembrance, and the ongoing work required to keep October 30th visible year after year.
Proceeds will also help support the newly launched Adoptee Remembrance Day Substack, where we will publish first-person stories from adoptees who have experienced suicidal ideation and/or survived suicide attempts. Adoptees whose stories are selected for publication will receive an honorarium for sharing their stories. We believe adoptees who give their time, emotional energy, and lived experiences to this work deserve to be compensated for their contributions.
The Adoptee Remembrance Day Substack will also provide a dedicated home for remembrance, community contributions, resources, awareness initiatives, and ongoing conversations surrounding adoptee suicide, suicidal ideation, mental health, grief, loss, and survival. This gives Adoptee Remembrance Day a place to continue these important conversations throughout the entire year, not only on October 30th.
